My name is Lola (Funlola) Famuyiwa. I am an academic and a researcher. I have worked a few years as a faculty
at the University of Lagos (Department of Estate Management). I tutor modules in ‘Property Taxation’ and ‘Land
Policy & Resource Management’.
As an individual, I am quite passionate about sustainable public infrastructure financing for economic development
and equitable wealth distribution – through the use of land taxation, capturing the rising value of real state (LVC)
and allied policies.
Through research, I am committed to advocating for raising public finance through region-specific policies on land
and land taxation towards the attainment of societal prosperity. This has influenced the direction of my research,
with some past outputs/publications in this area publicly available online and at my University library.
My plans for the future include more active public advocacy on Land Value capture, mentoring early career
professionals in this area, and carrying out further research into gaining broader insights on Land Value Capture
(LVC) issues locally and around the globe.
